MOBILE, AL – In a brutal act of arson, Timothy Jones has been handed a five-year federal prison sentence for torching Greer’s Downtown Market. The sentencing was carried out by United States District Judge Jeffrey Beaverstock this morning.
Court documents reveal that Jones’ fiery fury struck on the streets of Mobile in February 2024 when he deliberately ignited a blaze inside the grocery store at Government and Broad Streets. Security cameras caught Jones in the act, leading to his capture near the scene shortly after the fire was set. The store was operational during the attack, with employees and customers present.
