LITTLE ROCK—Morris Anthony Campbell, a 43-year-old North Little Rock man, will spend the next 180 months in federal prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Campbell, who previously served a 46-month federal prison sentence for possession with intent to distribute marijuana and was on supervised release, will also face two years in prison concurrent with the 180-month sentence for violating his supervised release.
According to investigators, Campbell was driving a vehicle with fictitious tags on April 3, 2025, when law enforcement officers initiated a traffic stop.
Upon searching Campbell’s vehicle, officers located a stolen 9mm firearm wrapped in a shirt in the engine compartment, as well as 22 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Campbell admitted to the officers that he was aware of the firearm and the marijuana, which was also found in his possession.
Campbell’s criminal history includes a February 27, 2020, federal drug conviction, a 2009 federal conviction for distribution of cocaine base, and several other convictions for violent felonies and serious drug offenses.
This case was investigated by the ATF with assistance from the North Little Rock Police Department.
Campbell’s sentence was handed down by United States District Judge James M. Moody, Jr., on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
