Nine men, including well-known musical artists Pooh Shiesty and Big30, have been federally charged with kidnapping and robbing numerous victims at a music studio in Dallas, Texas. The alleged crimes occurred when the victims thought they were attending a business meeting. Instead, they were met with violence and intimidation. The defendants were arrested in Dallas, Texas, and Memphis, Tennessee.
The charged defendants include Lontrell Williams, Jr., aka Pooh Shiesty, Lontrell Williams, Sr., Rodney Wright, Jr., aka Big30, Kedarius Waters, Terrance Rodgers, Damarian Gipson, Demarcus Glover, Kordae Johnson, and Darrion McDaniel. Eight of the nine were arrested, with the remaining defendant’s status unknown.
According to United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Ryan Raybould, the defendants resorted to violence and intimidation to achieve their business objectives. The case highlights the cooperation between federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, including the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force and the Western District of Tennessee.
The investigation and arrests were the result of a joint effort between the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, the Memphis Police Department, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Desoto County Sheriff’s Office, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. The defendants now face federal charges for their alleged roles in the kidnapping and robbery.
