Stacey Vanarsdale, a 37-year-old resident of Lincoln, Nebraska, was today sent to federal prison for 11 years after being convicted of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. United States Attorney Susan Lehr announced the sentence imposed by Senior United States District Judge John M. Gerrard.
The gritty reality of this drug ring came to light when the Lincoln/Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force (LLCNTF) executed a search warrant at Vanarsdale’s residence on August 10, 2022. The law enforcement team, led by the LLCNTF, discovered a chilling cache: 365.9 grams of methamphetamine neatly divided in 12-ounce baggies, $217 in cash, and other illegal narcotics.
Text messages recovered from both Vanarsdale’s and co-defendant Alphonso Johnson, Jr.’s cell phones painted a disturbing picture. The messages revealed that Johnson had directed meetings at the apartment for drug sales, working in tandem with Vanarsdale to distribute the illicit substances.
The lab analysis confirmed 346.35 grams of meth, with at least 180 grams being pure. On March 1, 2024, Alphonso Johnson, Jr. was also sentenced to 132 months (11 years) for his role in the conspiracy.
Vanarsdale’s 11-year sentence, which includes no parole due to the federal system’s rigid structure, will be followed by an 8-year term of supervised release upon his release from prison.
This case serves as a stark reminder of the relentless efforts of law enforcement to combat drug trafficking in our communities. The LLCNTF has once again demonstrated its commitment to justice and public safety.
