Assault on Federal Officer Lands Nebraska Man Behind Bars
A Valentine, Nebraska man has been sentenced to time in custody for his role in assaulting a federal officer.
Blake Bordeaux, 22, was sentenced to 148 days in custody with credit for time served and $25 to the Victim Assistance Fund on January 17, 2013, by US District Judge Roberto A. Lange.
The conviction stems from an incident that took place on August 27, 2011, when Bordeaux assaulted a federal officer. The investigation was conducted by Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services, with Assistant United States Attorney Marie H. Ruettgers prosecuting the case.
Bordeaux was immediately turned over to the custody of the US Marshal after the sentencing.
According to the court records, Bordeaux’s actions put the life of the federal officer at risk.
The sentence brings a sense of closure for the victim and the community, said US Attorney Brendan V. Johnson in a statement.
