New Castle’s streets are no longer safe for drug kingpins, as 34-year-old Donald Jeter has pleaded guilty in federal court to a string of serious charges.
Jeter, a resident of New Castle, Pennsylvania, admitted to conspiring with others to distribute fentanyl and cocaine between May 2021 and October 2022. The illegal activities took place on the gritty streets of New Castle, where such crimes have long been a blight on the community.
But Jeter’s troubles didn’t end there. On August 10, 2022, he was caught with a firearm, which is strictly prohibited under federal law for individuals with felony convictions like Jeter.
The United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan announced the guilty plea today, with sentencing scheduled for September 24, 2024, before Senior District Judge Arthur J. Schwab. The stiffest sentence Jeter could face is up to 20 years in prison, along with a fine of up to $1 million.
Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller will be prosecuting the case on behalf of the United States, ensuring that justice is served for the community that has been terrorized by drug trafficking activities.
The investigation leading to Jeter’s prosecution was a collaborative effort involving multiple law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, ATF, and local police departments in Lawrence County, Mercer County, New Castle, Sharon, and the Pennsylvania State Police.
