New Orleans, LOUISIANA – KENNETH RICHMOND, 65, was handed a six-year sentence for his role in a fraudulent vehicle purchase scheme that bilked a local dealership out of $124,031.41.
According to court documents, Richmond and his daughter Kendra Walker conspired to use fake and stolen personal information to buy cars from a local dealership, financing the purchases through loans that went into default.
The scammer, who was already on federal supervised release for a previous fraud conviction at the time of this crime, stole a real person’s identity to purchase a Dodge Challenger in July 2022. Richmond has been sentenced to four years imprisonment followed by three years of supervised release and ordered to pay $58,852 in restitution.
Richmond’s supervised release was revoked on August 13, 2025, following his conviction, resulting in an additional two-year sentence for the same crime. The sentencing hearing for codefendant Kendra Walker has been set for September 25, 2025.
The investigation into Richmond’s scheme was a collaborative effort between the United States Secret Service, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office, and the Louisiana Department of Public Safety. Assistant United States Attorney Maria M. Carboni is handling the prosecution of this case within the Financial Crimes Unit.
