Ocala Man Charged with Child Sex Exploitation
Ocala, Florida – A 30-year-old Ocala man has been arrested for attempting to transfer obscene material to a minor, authorities announced today.
Nicholas Robert Davis was charged with attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor, a federal crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
According to court documents, on July 24, 2024, a Homeland Security Investigations special agent posed online as a 13-year-old girl and received a message from Davis on an online social media platform.
After learning the girl’s age, Davis engaged in a video call with the agent, exposing himself and engaging in a sexually explicit conversation. He also sent a video of himself masturbating.
The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida leading the prosecution.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Davis is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison.
