Lori Zeno, the former executive director of Queens Defenders, a non-profit legal services organization, and Rashad Ruhani, a former employee, were sentenced to prison for embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from the organization in Queens, New York. Kovner in federal court in Brooklyn.
Zeno was sentenced to 43 months in prison, while Ruhani received a 57-month sentence. Instead, Zeno and Ruhani used the money to purchase luxury goods, travel, and other personal indulgences.
