Ethan Irving, a 36-year-old Norfolk man, pleaded guilty to sexually exploiting a two-year-old minor from Massachusetts. The disturbing crime occurred in June 2025, when Irving uploaded three files of child sexual abuse material to Kik Messenger. An investigation led to his arrest in July 2025, and subsequent searches of his residence and devices uncovered multiple media files depicting child sexual abuse material.
According to charging documents, Irving’s devices contained a continuous series of images depicting him sexually abusing a two-year-old female toddler. The images appeared to have been taken inside a bedroom at Irving’s residence, with the bedding matching sheets observed during a search of the home in July 2025.
Irving’s guilty plea comes after he was previously sentenced to two years of probation for Dissemination of Obscene Matter and Possession of Child Pornography in December 2025. However, the new federal charges carry a much harsher sentence, with Irving facing at least 15 years and up to 30 years in prison, as well as a fine of up to $250,000.
U.S. District Court Judge Julia E. Kobick has scheduled Irving’s sentencing for October 27, 2026. The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat child exploitation and abuse, and the severe consequences for those who engage in such heinous crimes.
