Xisen Guo, a 68-year-old from Brooklyn, New York, was involved in a large-scale marijuana operation in Passadumkeag, Maine. Between July 2020 and February 2024, Guo maintained a residence on Main Road for the purpose of growing and distributing marijuana. In February 2024, a state search warrant was executed at the location, resulting in the seizure of approximately 40 pounds of processed marijuana, $4,710 in U.S. Currency, and evidence of marijuana cultivation.
Guo had acquired the property through a limited liability company and paid the electrical utilities and property taxes on the property. He also purchased equipment and materials used to grow marijuana at the property. During a post-arrest interview, Guo admitted that he had taken over the growing activity himself after initially renting the property to someone else.
Guo pleaded guilty on January 13, 2025, and was sentenced to time served and one year of supervised release by U.S. District Judge John A. Woodcock, Jr. The investigation was led by the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security Investigations, and the FBI.
The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking and related activities in Maine and beyond. Guo’s sentence serves as a reminder of the consequences of engaging in such illicit activities.
