Ohio Cop Ambush

Two separate ambush attacks on law enforcement officers have left the nation reeling. In Danville, Ohio, and Holladay, Utah, police officers were targeted in brutal assaults. Earlier, an officer was injured in a similar ambush in Philadelphia, leaving the communities shaken and demanding action.

According to Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch, ‘I am appalled and deeply saddened by the recent shooting attacks against law enforcement officers in Danville, Ohio, and Holladay, Utah, in addition to an earlier ambush in Philadelphia, which left an officer injured.’

The Attorney General stated that these heinous assaults are reminders of the difficult jobs that law enforcement officers perform every day and the dangers they face. ‘These brave men and women willingly put themselves in harm’s way to serve their communities, and it is our duty to ensure their safety.’

The Department of Justice has pledged to support law enforcement officers and provide resources to hold accountable those who threaten communities, attack neighbors, and harm peacekeepers. ‘We stand ready to offer any and all appropriate resources to help keep our law enforcement officers safe,’ Lynch emphasized.

The recent attacks have sent shockwaves across the country, prompting calls for increased support and protection for law enforcement. ‘We owe it to our brave officers to do everything in our power to prevent such attacks and ensure their safety,’ Lynch said.
