OMAHA – In a chilling turn of justice, Oliver ‘Ollie’ Holman, a 58-year-old Omaha resident, was meted out a sentence of 180 months in federal prison for the heinous crime of sexual exploitation of a child. United States Attorney Susan Lehr announced the verdict on May 3, 2024, emphasizing that parole does not exist within the federal system. Holman, who faces no chance of early release, will also serve a 10-year term of supervised release post-prison.
The saga began when, between July 11 and August 27, 2021, Holman utilized Facebook to send lewd messages to a then-15-year-old girl. He offered her cash in exchange for sexually explicit images and videos. The predatory behavior escalated as Holman met the minor in Omaha and paid her on multiple occasions for such material.
Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr., presided over the sentencing, imposing a total of $3,100.00 in special assessments against Holman. This case was a collaborative effort by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, which conducted the investigation, and the Omaha FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force.
According to authorities, Holman’s actions were part of a broader pattern of exploitation. His sentence reflects the severity of his crimes against a vulnerable minor. The community is now left grappling with the knowledge that such a predator was operating among them.
United States Attorney Lehr stressed the importance of these cases in deterring online predators and protecting children from further harm. ‘The justice system will continue to hold individuals like Holman accountable for their despicable actions,’ she said.
Holman’s conviction serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing threat of cybercrime against minors and the critical role that law enforcement agencies play in safeguarding our youth from exploitation.
