Bogar Mendez-Marquez, Methamphetamine Distribution Conspiracy, Nebraska 2022

Omaha, NE – Federal prosecutors have dealt a severe blow to the streets of Omaha with the sentencing of Bogar Mendez-Marquez for his role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy.

Mendez-Marquez, 44, was sentenced on June 14, 2024, by Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr., to 87 months’ imprisonment without parole. Following his release, he will serve a mandatory 4-year term of supervised release.

The investigation revealed that Mendez-Marquez conspired with others to distribute over 50 grams of actual meth within the state’s borders from July 18, 2022, through February 27, 2023. His intention was clear: he joined the agreement knowing full well its purpose was to peddle the illegal substance.

On July 18, 2022, law enforcement intercepted Mendez-Marquez during a traffic stop in Omaha, leading to the seizure of 2 grams of meth. He also confessed to mailing 5 pounds of meth for the drug trafficking organization he was part of.

The investigation took another turn on February 27, 2023, when law enforcement conducted a controlled buy. Through an intermediary, Mendez-Marquez provided approximately a quarter pound of meth to an undercover agent, totaling 100.5 grams as confirmed by lab results.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, marking yet another victory for federal law enforcement in the fight against drug trafficking.
