A 25-year-old Omaha woman will spend nearly six years behind bars for her role in a string of robberies that terrorized the city in 2022. Adrionna Leeper, 25, of Omaha, was sentenced to 75 months imprisonment in federal court for conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery.
Leeper’s crimes were part of a spree of robberies that took place on February 24 and 25, 2022, targeting multiple businesses in Omaha. The first incident occurred at the Midwest Smoke Shop at 7010 Dodge Street, where a store employee was physically assaulted by one of the suspects. Leeper was identified as one of the individuals involved in the robbery, which netted no cash but did result in the theft of money from a tip jar.
The following day, Leeper and her accomplices struck again, hitting the Family Dollar at 6618 North 30th Street. A man wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black shoes, and a black ski mask entered the store, brandishing a handgun and demanding cash from the register and safes. The suspect pointed the gun at several people, including the store manager, before making off with $1,342.
The spree continued with a robbery at the Family Dollar at 2601 North 16th Street, where the suspect used a similar modus operandi. Leeper and her accomplices also targeted a Bucky’s/Casey’s Gas Station at 2223 South 24th Street, a MegaSaver Gas Station at 10707 Blondo Street, and a Casey’s/Bucky’s Gas Station at 107 South 40th Street. In total, the robbers netted an estimated $8,463.67.
Leeper’s sentence includes a 3-year term of supervised release, during which time she will be required to pay restitution to the victims. There is no parole in the federal system, meaning Leeper will serve her entire sentence without the possibility of early release.
The case was investigated by the Omaha Police Department, with assistance from federal authorities. United States Attorney Susan Lehr announced the sentencing, which took place on May 3, 2024, in federal court in Omaha. Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. imposed the sentence.
As the city continues to grapple with the aftermath of these brazen robberies, residents can take solace in knowing that those responsible are being held accountable. Leeper’s sentence serves as a reminder that crime does not pay, and that those who commit serious crimes will face serious consequences.
