Orlando man Nicholas Damion Paisley, 34, is headed to federal prison for a decade after admitting to running a drug operation out of a Pine Hills residence and keeping an AK47-style assault rifle at the scene. U.S. District Judge Roy B. Dalton, Jr. handed down the 10-year sentence for Paisley’s role in distributing cocaine, crack cocaine, and marijuana while armed to the teeth.
Paisley pleaded guilty on November 18, 2016, to multiple federal charges, including distributing cocaine, possessing crack cocaine, cocaine, and marijuana with intent to distribute, and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. The charges stem from a targeted investigation into narcotics activity in one of Orlando’s most troubled corridors—Pine Hills, a zone long plagued by violent drug disputes and open-air markets.
On August 4, 2016, law enforcement raided the residence tied to Paisley’s operation. Inside, they seized four firearms—including a fully modified AK47-style assault rifle equipped with a scope, collapsible stock, and extended magazine. The weapon alone marks a significant escalation in firepower typical of street-level traffickers, signaling both danger and defiance.
Alongside the weapons, agents recovered distribution quantities of crack cocaine, cocaine, and marijuana. The stash wasn’t for personal use—it was packaged, weighed, and ready to flood the streets. Court documents confirm Paisley operated alongside others in an organized effort to supply narcotics to buyers across the neighborhood, leveraging intimidation and firepower to protect the operation.
The Drug Enforcement Administration led the investigation, tracking Paisley’s movements and transactions before moving in for the takedown. Prosecution was handled by Assistant United States Attorney Sean P. Shecter, who emphasized the threat posed by armed drug traffickers who operate with impunity in residential zones.
Paisley’s 10-year sentence reflects the severity of combining drug distribution with high-powered weaponry. Federal law mandates stiff penalties for such crimes, especially when assault-style rifles are used to protect illicit enterprises. For residents of Pine Hills, the bust offers a brief respite—but the war on street-level trafficking is far from over.
