Pa Man Gets 20 Years for Child Porn
BUFFALO, N.Y.—A 37-year-old Pa man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison and 10 years supervised release for producing child pornography.
Randall Lose, of Howard, Pa, was convicted of producing child pornography and sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Richard J. Arcara.
The investigation began after the City of Tonawanda Police Department received a complaint from the parent of a 13-year-old girl. The police notified the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which discovered that Lose had used the Internet to communicate with and obtain sexual explicit videos of the minor girl living in Western New York.
Lose, who represented himself as a 14-year-old boy, convinced the victim to take her clothes off and engage in graphic sexual activity while he watched over Skype from his residence in Pennsylvania. He also gave the victim instructions about what conduct to engage in while he watched and recorded.
The defendant also tried to get the victim to give him information about her friends so he could communicate with them as well. The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the City of Tonawanda Police Department, and the Cheektowaga Police Department worked together to investigate the case.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Marie P. Grisanti and Maura O’Donnell handled the case and stated that the sentencing is the culmination of a thorough investigation.
Project Safe Childhood aims to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
