Pa. Man Pleads Guilty to Child Porn Production
BUFFALO, N.Y. – In a disturbing case of online exploitation, Randall Lose, 36, of Howard, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty to producing child pornography, a crime that carries severe consequences for both the victim and the perpetrator.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of New York, Lose produced and distributed child pornography, a heinous act that preys on the innocence of children. His actions were made possible through the internet, which was used to communicate with a minor female living in Western New York.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Maura K. O’Donnell stated that the investigation was initiated by the City of Tonawanda Police Department after receiving a complaint from the parent of a minor victim. The information was then forwarded to the FBI, which launched a thorough investigation to bring Lose to justice.
The investigation revealed that Lose instructed the minor female to engage in various sexual acts, which he then recorded and viewed via Skype. This despicable act of child exploitation is a stark reminder of the dangers that lurk online, and the importance of vigilant monitoring and reporting of such crimes.
Lose’s guilty plea is the culmination of an investigation on the part of Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Acting Special Agent in Charge Steven L. Lanser, and the City of Tonawanda Police Department, under the direction of Chief William Strassburg.
The sentencing is scheduled for January 27, 2014, at 12:30 p.m. before Judge Richard J. Arcara. Lose faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years in prison, a maximum penalty of 30 years, a fine of $250,000, or both.
This case highlights the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies and the community in preventing and investigating child exploitation crimes. The Grimy Times commends the efforts of the FBI and the City of Tonawanda Police Department in bringing Lose to justice and protecting the victims of this heinous crime.
