Pablo Antonio Sandoval, Methamphetamine Trafficking, Texas 2021

TYLER, Texas – In a brazen move, a Bakersfield, CA man has been brought to justice for his role in flooding the streets of East Texas with methamphetamine.

According to court documents, Pablo Antonio Sandoval, 24, pleaded guilty on August 8, 2022, to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. He was subsequently sentenced to 170 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Jeremy D. Kernodle on April 18, 2023.

Prosecutors allege that in October 2021, Sandoval supplied more than 500 grams of methamphetamine to drug dealers in Cherokee County, Texas. The methamphetamine, which was sourced from suppliers in California, would have had a devastating impact on the community if not for the diligent work of law enforcement.

The case was investigated by a multi-agency task force consisting of the Homeland Security Investigations, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Drug Enforcement Administration, and Jacksonville Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Lucas Machicek led the prosecution efforts.

“The sentencing of Pablo Antonio Sandoval is a testament to the tireless efforts of law enforcement to keep our communities safe from the scourge of methamphetamine,” said U.S. Attorney Brit Featherston.

The case serves as a reminder that the Eastern District of Texas will not tolerate the trafficking of controlled substances. We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to bring those responsible to justice and to keep our communities safe.
