Pedro Vazquez, Methamphetamine Distribution, Louisiana 2024

New Orleans, LA – A California man has been sentenced to prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy.

Pedro Vazquez, 31, was sentenced on April 25, 2024, to 48 months imprisonment for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine (Count 1) and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine (Count 2), in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1) and 846 respectively.

Vazquez was sentenced by Chief Judge Nannette Jolivette Brown, on each count, to 48 months imprisonment, five years of supervised release, and a $200 mandatory special assessment fee. All sentences are to run concurrently with each other.

Vazquez, and others known and unknown, conspired to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine. In addition, Vazquez drove to Metairie, Louisiana to conduct a narcotics transaction that involved a quantity of methamphetamine.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office. The prosecution was handled by Assistant United States Attorney Lynn E. Schiffman of the Narcotics Unit.

Vazquez will serve 48 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, and pay a mandatory special assessment fee of $200.

The investigation into Vazquez and his co-conspirators is ongoing, and it is unclear if any other individuals will face charges as a result of their involvement in the methamphetamine distribution conspiracy.
