Jack Lee Nimrick, Possession of Child Pornography, Illinois 2024

PEORIA, Ill. – In a chilling case of child exploitation, 43-year-old Jack Lee Nimrick has been sentenced to ten years and one day in federal prison for possession of obscene visual representations of the sexual abuse of children.

Nimrick’s dark past includes a previous conviction for distribution of child pornography in 2015. After serving nine years behind bars, he was released under strict supervision but quickly slipped back into his predatory ways. While on supervised release, Nimrick was found in possession of an unmonitored cellphone capable of accessing the internet, which contained over 150 computer-generated images and 50 animated videos showing the sexual abuse of children.

Arrested in October 2023, Nimrick faced federal charges for his latest offense. He pleaded guilty to possessing obscene images earlier this year and admitted violations of his supervised release conditions. His sentence includes a three-year term of supervised release following his prison term.

The investigation into Nimrick’s crimes was led by the United States Department of Homeland Security, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Ronald L. Hanna representing the government during the prosecution.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. Project Safe Childhood uses federal, state, and local resources to track down and prosecute those who exploit children online.
