Pete Supan, Coercion and Enticement of a Minor, Florida 2025

A shocking case of child sex abuse has come to light with the sentencing of Sarasota Doctor Pete Supan to 15 years in federal prison for coercion and enticement of a minor and production of child sex abuse material.

According to court documents, Supan, 36, used an app to coerce and entice an individual under the age of 18 to engage in sexual activity. Supan misrepresented his age as 19 years old and persuaded, induced, enticed, or coerced the minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of such conduct.

Supan admitted to communicating with the victim who he knew was a minor. This heinous act was brought to light through the tireless efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Courtney Derry. It is another case brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Pete Supan pleaded guilty on October 7, 2025. United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe made the announcement.

This case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that lurk in the shadows of our society. We must remain vigilant in our pursuit of justice for these heinous crimes.
