Pine Ridge Man Convicted of Abusive Sexual Contact
Patrick Left Hand Bull, a 40-year-old man from Pine Ridge, South Dakota, was sentenced for engaging in sexual contact with a woman who was unable to give consent.
According to court documents, the crime occurred in July 2013, near Pine Ridge. Left Hand Bull, who was convicted of Abusive Sexual Contact, was sentenced by Chief Judge Jeffrey L. Viken, U.S. District Court, on February 3, 2014.
As a result of the crime, Left Hand Bull was sentenced to 46 months of imprisonment, 10 years of supervised release, and ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs Office of Justice Services, and the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah B. Collins.
Left Hand Bull was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service after the sentencing.
