Pittsburgh Man Admits to Heroin and Fentanyl Conspiracy

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – A Pittsburgh man has admitted to a serious drug charge, Acting United States Attorney Randolph J. Bernard announced.

Raimonte Gordon Gaston, also known as “Boog,” “Barkley Boo,” “Barkley,” and “Ray,” 28, pleaded guilty to one count of “Conspiracy to Distribute and to Possess with the Intent to Distribute Heroin and Fentanyl.” Gaston admitted to working with another to distribute heroin and fentanyl from September 2018 to January 2019 in Harrison County and elsewhere.

Gaston faces up to 20 years of incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn M. Adkins is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. The Greater Harrison Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, and the Bridgeport Police Department investigated.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi presided over the hearing. Gaston’s guilty plea marks a significant blow to those involved in the heroin and fentanyl trade in the region.

The investigation and prosecution of Gaston’s case is a testament to the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat the opioid epidemic and bring those responsible to justice.

Gaston’s sentencing is scheduled for a later date, and he will remain in custody until then. The Grimy Times will continue to provide updates on this case as more information becomes available.
