A 31-year-old Pojoaque man is going down for 14 years after a sickening sex abuse case. Alexander John Duran, a member of the Pueblo of Pojoaque, pleaded guilty to abusing a child under 12 between December 2021 and February 2022.
The feds say Duran engaged in a sexual act with the child during that time. He’s now facing the music in a federal prison.
According to court records, Duran will serve no parole in the federal system. He’ll also have to register as a sex offender and undergo five years of supervised release upon his release.
The case was investigated by the FBI’s Albuquerque Field Office with assistance from the Pojoaque Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark A. Probasco is handling the prosecution under Project Safe Childhood.
