Today, in a Tulsa courtroom, Henry Joseph Arthur, Jr., 52, of Prague, faced justice for his brutal act of arson and illegal firearm possession. Judge Gregory K. Frizzell handed down a 120-month sentence followed by five years of supervised release.
The judge’s ruling came after evidence proved that Arthur plotted to torch his ex-girlfriend’s home in April 2023. Surveillance and GPS data implicated him in the fire, which reduced the residence to ashes.
Despite being on pretrial bond, Arthur’s violations were flagrant; he failed to comply with court-ordered substance abuse treatment, leading to a warrant for his arrest. U.S. Marshals apprehended him in possession of a loaded handgun, in clear violation of his bond terms.
Court records reveal a troubling history for Arthur, including 19 prior felony convictions, multiple protective order violations, domestic assault and battery charges, and other crimes posing threats to public safety.
Arthur will remain in custody until transferred to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons. The investigation was led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Creek County Sheriff’s Office, and Kellyville Fire Department, with assistance from the U.S. Marshal Service. Assistant U.S. Attorney Niko Boulieris prosecuted the case.
This case is a testament to Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) efforts, which aim to reduce violent crime and gun violence in our communities. PSN focuses on fostering trust, supporting community-based organizations, strategic enforcement, and measuring results for public safety improvements.
