Daniel Alan Robertson, Child Pornography Receipt and Distribution, California 2023

CLEVELAND – A chilling case of child exploitation has resulted in a decade-long prison sentence for Daniel Alan Robertson, 47, from Ravenna, Ohio.

Robertson was sentenced to 121 months—10 years—and will serve an additional 10 years of supervised release following his imprisonment. The sentence comes after the 47-year-old pleaded guilty to receipt and distribution of child pornography in May. Additionally, he must pay $117,500 in restitution.

According to court documents, Robertson’s twisted activities spanned from March 1 to December 4, 2024. He utilized peer-to-peer file sharing programs to amass a collection of sexually explicit images and videos involving minors, including prepubescent females. During a federal search warrant execution in December, investigators uncovered a cache of electronic devices filled with child sexual abuse materials.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was called in to review the disturbing visuals, which included CSAM depicting children under 12. More than 20 victims were identified as a result of this investigation.

Assistant United States Attorney Toni Beth Schnellinger Feisthamel led the prosecution against Robertson. The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide effort to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse through the marshalling of federal, state, and local resources.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI Cleveland Division, Portage County Sheriff’s Office, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol-Office of Investigative Services Computer Crimes Unit.
