Crack Cocaine Conspiracy Rocks Schenectady

A 29-year-old Schenectady man has pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute more than 100 grams of crack cocaine.

Ray A. Perkins, of Schenectady, New York, admitted to selling about 106 grams of crack cocaine in the city of Schenectady between December 2015 and March 2016.

Perkins faces at least 5 years and up to 40 years in prison when he is sentenced on December 12, 2016 by Senior United States District Judge Thomas J. McAvoy.

The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Richard S. Hartunian and Andrew W. Vale, Special Agent in Charge of the Albany Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Barnett.

Perkins’ guilty plea is a significant blow to the local drug trade, and law enforcement officials are hailing it as a major victory.
