Raymond Briskey Convicted of Cocaine Trafficking and Firearm Crimes, Pittsburgh PA, 2020
PITTSBURGH, PA – A Sharon resident has been convicted of committing cocaine and crack trafficking and firearm crimes, according to a guilty plea entered in federal court.
Raymond Briskey, 38, of Sharon, Pennsylvania, pled guilty before United States District Judge Joy Flowers Conti to possessing with intent to distribute cocaine and cocaine base on October 21, 2020, and to possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime on that date.
Assistant United States Attorney Craig W. Haller is prosecuting this case on behalf of the United States. The investigation leading to the return of the Indictment in this case was conducted by the Mercer County Drug Task Force, the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and gun violence, and to make our neighborhoods safer for everyone.
The PSN program is based on core principles that include fostering trust and legitimacy in our communities, supporting community-based organizations that help prevent violence from occurring in the first place, setting focused and strategic enforcement priorities, and measuring the results.
Raymond Briskey is scheduled to be sentenced on April 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. before Judge Conti. The guilty plea and subsequent conviction serve as a reminder of the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat the scourge of drug trafficking and firearm violence in our communities.
