A Dominican national and Rhode Island resident, Nelson Reyes Luciano, 41, was sentenced to 78 months in federal prison for shipping 10 parcels of cocaine and fentanyl to Rhode Island using mail carriers, authorities revealed.
Between February 2022 and March 2022, Luciano, a California resident, sent cocaine and fentanyl worth over 8 kilograms and 2.2 kilograms to co-conspirator Rosangeles Bueno’s Providence home.
Law enforcement found cocaine and fentanyl, along with scales, baggies, and other packaging materials, during a search at Bueno’s home. The search was part of a separate case, 22-cr-00090-WES-PAS.
Luciano’s sentence was handed down by U.S. District Court Judge Mary S. McElroy and includes 5 years of supervised release and a $300 special assessment.
