Ricky Lee Clark, Sr., Meth and Gun Crimes, West Virginia 2023

A Kanawha County man, Ricky Lee Clark, Sr., 53, of St. Albans, has been sentenced to 45 months in federal prison for drug and gun crimes.

The crimes, which include possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, being a felon in possession of firearms, and being a felon in possession of ammunition, were committed in Kanawha County, West Virginia.

On July 2, 2019, a member of the St. Albans Police pulled over a truck driven by a woman, with Ricky Lee Clark, Sr. as the passenger. During the stop, handgun ammunition was recovered from the truck, and approximately 10 grams of methamphetamine was found in Clark’s pocket.

Later that day, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Clark’s residence and recovered six firearms. Clark is prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition due to a prior felony conviction for conspiring to operate a clandestine drug laboratory.

Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston commended the investigative work of the St. Albans Police, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the United States Marshals Service.

United States District Judge Joseph R. Goodwin imposed the sentence of 45 months in federal prison. Assistant United States Attorney Nowles Heinrich handled the prosecution.
