Joshua Pote, Methamphetamine Distribution, Pennsylvania 2025

ROARING SPRING, Pa.—In a dramatic turn of events, Joshua Pote, the alleged drug kingpin of Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania, has pleaded guilty in federal court to charges related to the distribution of methamphetamine and other dangerous narcotics. The 42-year-old admitted his role in a six-month wiretap investigation that targeted drug trafficking across Blair, Cambria, Centre, and Clearfield counties.

Pote faced multiple offenses, including conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and actual possession with intent to distribute the substance. His guilty plea reveals an alleged connection with a drug trafficking organization based in Altoona, Pennsylvania, which sold substantial quantities of meth and other illegal drugs throughout the Western District of Pennsylvania.

United States District Judge Stephanie L. Haines has scheduled sentencing for November 4, 2025. Pote could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison, a fine of $1 million, or both, depending on his prior criminal history and the severity of his offenses.

Pote remains detained pending his sentencing hearing. Assistant United States Attorney Jonathan D. Lusty is handling the prosecution on behalf of the government.

The Drug Enforcement Administration led the multi-agency investigation that resulted in Pote’s arrest, which also involved the United States Postal Service—Office of Inspector General, United States Postal Inspection Service, Homeland Security Investigations, Internal Revenue Service, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, and Pennsylvania State Police. This case is part of a larger Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation aimed at dismantling high-level drug trafficking networks.

The OCDETF approach leverages the strengths of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to combat criminal networks, ensuring that individuals like Pote face justice for their dangerous activities.
