San Francisco – Rodney Williams, a 55-year-old San Francisco resident, has been sentenced to 120 months in federal prison for his despicable crimes of possessing child sexual abuse materials and drug and firearms offenses. Senior U.S. District Judge Susan Illston imposed the harsh sentence.
Williams was charged on October 7, 2024, and pleaded guilty to two counts of child pornography possession, intent to distribute over 500 grams of methamphetamine and cocaine, and being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition on May 16, 2025.
The investigation revealed that Williams had 555 images and 147 videos depicting child sexual abuse on his iPhone, with at least one file involving a minor under 12. Additionally, he possessed nine video files of similar content in his digital storage account.
In a search of his home and vehicle on July 24, 2024, law enforcement uncovered nearly 3.8 kilograms of methamphetamine, over 1 kilogram of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and an arsenal of firearms including AK- and AR-style rifles, handguns, and shotguns, totalling over 116 pounds of ammunition. Williams also had body armor and various firearm accessories.
United States Attorney Craig H. Missakian, along with HSI Acting Special Agent in Charge Jeffrey Brannigan and ATF Acting Special Agent in Charge Robert Topper, announced the charges against Williams. Judge Illston sentenced him to five years of supervised release following his prison term and ordered $89,000 in restitution to victims of child sexual abuse.
Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Eli J. Cohen prosecuted the case, which was investigated by HSI, ATF, and the San Francisco Police Department. Williams will now begin serving his sentence.
