Ronald Carl Peavy II, Methamphetamine Trafficking, Florida 2025

Gainesville, FL – A Dixie County man has been charged with methamphetamine trafficking in federal court, according to a recent indictment. Ronald Carl Peavy II, 49, of Old Town, Florida, has been accused of possessing with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

Peavy is scheduled to appear before United States Magistrate Judge Midori A. Lowry at the United States Courthouse in Gainesville, Florida on July 1, 2025, at 2:15 p.m. for arraignment. If convicted, he faces up to life imprisonment.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Dixie County Sheriff’s Office. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys James A. McCain and Adam Hapner.

An indictment is merely an allegation by a grand jury that a defendant has committed a violation of federal criminal law and is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent and entitled to a fair trial, during which it will be the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.
