EUGENE, Ore. – On Monday, March 13, 2017, Greyson Scott Lindenfelser, a 29-year-old from Roseburg, Oregon, was handed a 20-year sentence by U.S. District Court Judge Michael J. McShane for being a felon in possession of a stolen firearm and distributing more than 600 grams of methamphetamine.
Lindenfelser’s law enforcement troubles began on September 16, 2014, when Deputy U.S. Marshals and Lane and Douglas County Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team detectives apprehended him at a motel in Creswell, Oregon. Authorities found $12,653 on his person, as well as more than 600 grams of methamphetamine and a loaded .45 caliber pistol in the room.
According to court documents, Lindenfelser had already been arrested by Douglas County Sheriff Deputies in June 2014 for delivering multiple pounds of meth and hydrocodone pills. After release, warrants were issued for his arrest in July for robbery, kidnapping, and unlawful use of weapons. In August 2014, he eluded Benton County Sheriff Deputies during a high-speed chase, crashing his vehicle and leaving behind two pounds of meth and a loaded .40 caliber pistol.
Lindenfelser has eight prior felony convictions, including robbery and illegal possession of drugs and firearms. On January 6, 2017, he pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery in Douglas County Circuit Court and was sentenced to 7½ years in state prison. His federal and state sentences will run concurrently.
This case was a collaborative effort between the Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, U.S. Marshals Service, and local sheriff’s offices. Assistant United States Attorney Frank R. Papagni, Jr., prosecuted the case with support from Benton County District Attorney John M. Haroldson and Douglas County District Attorney Rick Wesenberg.
