Daniel Fratus, a 39-year-old Salem man, was sentenced to 6 years in prison for possessing unregistered firearms and ammunition as a prohibited person. The crime occurred at his residence in Salem, New Hampshire, where police received a call about shots fired on January 23, 2024. Fratus, a convicted felon, was found with several firearms and approximately 12,870 rounds of ammunition. He was prohibited from possessing firearms and ammo due to his previous conviction for the sale of a controlled drug.
The investigation was led by the ATF, with assistance from the Salem Police Department. Fratus pleaded guilty in federal court in Concord and was sentenced to 72 months of incarceration, followed by 3 years of supervised release.
