Jomekia Archer, a 46-year-old Gainesville woman, has been indicted for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. The charge stems from an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Gainesville Police Department. Archer appeared in federal court for her arraignment and is set to face a jury trial on June 17, 2026. If convicted, she faces up to 15 years in prison.
The case against Archer is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating violent crime and transnational criminal organizations.
