A 24-year-old Guatemalan national has been charged with gun possession and illegal reentry after investigators linked him to a firearm. Selvin J. Tello-Perez was arrested in Pensacola, Florida.

The incident unfolded after a multi-agency investigation involving Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), U.S. Customs and Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

Tello-Perez’s indictment carries a potential 15-year sentence for gun possession and up to two years for reentry.

According to the indictment, Tello-Perez appeared in federal court for arraignment before United States Magistrate Judge Zachary C. Bolitho. He is set to go to trial on June 15, 2026, in front of District Court Judge T. Kent Wetherell, II.
