A 28-year-old Mexican citizen, Samuel Quib-Chub, has been sentenced for re-entering the United States after being deported four times. Quib-Chub pleaded guilty to the charges of Illegal Re-Entry After Deportation in federal court.

According to court documents, Quib-Chub was formally removed from the United States by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement on June 17, 2015, May 18, 2016, May 26, 2016, and June 1, 2016. However, he was once again found to be illegally present in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, on January 24, 2017, when he was arrested by the Penn Hills Police Department for aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment.

United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab imposed the sentence on Quib-Chub yesterday. He was sentenced to time served subject to deportation, as well as one year of supervised release. This means that Quib-Chub will be deported from the United States and will be under supervision for one year upon his return.

Assistant United States Attorney Adam N. Hallowell prosecuted this case on behalf of the government. Acting U.S. Attorney Soo C. Song commended the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Quib-Chub.

Quib-Chub’s case highlights the importance of immigration enforcement and the consequences of re-entering the United States after being deported. The U.S. government takes re-entry after deportation seriously and will prosecute individuals who attempt to re-enter the country illegally.

The sentence imposed on Quib-Chub serves as a warning to others who may be considering re-entering the United States after being deported. It is a reminder that the consequences of re-entry can be severe and that immigration enforcement is a top priority for the U.S. government.

The case against Quib-Chub is a prime example of the U.S. government’s commitment to enforcing immigration laws and protecting the country’s borders.
