Demetrio Ramirez, Child Pornography Production, Texas 2023

San Antonio, Texas – In a relentless battle against child predators, Demetrio Ramirez, a 34-year-old San Antonio man, has been sentenced to more than 41 years in federal prison. Ramirez was found guilty of producing and distributing child sexual abuse material.

The harrowing exploitation came to light on February 15, 2023, when Operation Rescue Me, a joint FBI and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) operation, identified Ramirez’s sinister activities. The predator, identified as Demetrio Ramirez, admitted to filming himself engaging in sexual conduct with a prepubescent minor and sharing these videos across social media.

‘Thanks to the vigilance of our FBI and NCMEC, we were able to put an end to Ramirez’s repeated sexual abuse of a young child and lock him up for the next four decades,’ said U.S. Attorney Jaime Esparza for the Western District of Texas. ‘The sexual abuse and exploitation of children will not be tolerated. We will relentlessly pursue these cases and prosecute them to the full extent of the law.’

Special Agent in Charge Aaron Tapp for the FBI San Antonio Field Office echoed the sentiments, stating, ‘Demetrio Ramirez preyed on children, one of the most vulnerable groups in our society. This sentence ensures he can’t hurt another child.’ The agency also thanked partners at the NCMEC and DOJ through their Project Safe Childhood initiative for their crucial role in keeping communities safe.

The case was investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Tracy Thompson. It is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide effort to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse since 2006.
