A Detroit man has admitted to his role in a West Virginia drug trafficking conspiracy, which led to the distribution of over 50 grams of methamphetamine in September 2019.
Shawn Harper Warren, also known as ‘S.J.,’ pleaded guilty to one count of ‘Distribution of Fifty Grams or More of Methamphetamine’ in a United States court.
According to the indictment, Warren worked with another individual to sell the illicit substance in West Virginia. The exact details of the operation remain unclear.
Warren, 25, now faces a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and up to life behind bars. He also faces a fine of up to $10,000,000.
The United States Attorney’s office has announced that Warren’s actual sentence will be determined by the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, which take into account the severity of the crimes and his prior criminal history, if any.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon S. Flower is handling the case on behalf of the government, while the Three Rivers Drug Task Force and the Fairmont Police Department conducted the investigation.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Aloi presided over the proceedings.
The case is related to a previous indictment involving a drug trafficking operation that took place in West Virginia and Detroit. Readers can find more information about the case on the official government website.
