A Martinsburg Man Faces Justice for Drug Trafficking

MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – Traun Renekki Musgrove, a 42-year-old man from Hagerstown, Maryland, has been held accountable for his involvement in drug trafficking. He was recently sentenced to one year of probation for a drug charge.

On June 2017, Musgrove used a phone to sell marijuana in Berkeley County. He pleaded guilty in December 2021 to one count of “Unlawful Use of Communication Facility”. This crime is a serious offense, and Musgrove’s actions will not go unpunished.

The Eastern Panhandle Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Lara Omps-Botteicher prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. U.S. District Judge Gina M. Groh presided over the sentencing.

As a result of the investigation, Musgrove was ordered to pay a $6,678 fine. This penalty serves as a reminder of the consequences of engaging in illicit activities. Musgrove will also serve one year of probation, a period during which he will be closely monitored to ensure he does not reoffend.
