St. Louis Man Sentenced to 150 Months for Gun Crime
ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis man has been sentenced to 150 months in prison for a gun crime that left a victim fighting for life.
Robert Eutz III, 44, pleaded guilty in January to one felony count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. The conviction stemmed from a March 30, 2023 shooting in the 3500 block of Lafayette Avenue.
According to court documents, a victim was hit multiple times in the shooting, and eyewitnesses identified Eutz’s vehicle at the scene. Forensic analysis revealed that the casings from the shooting matched the gun and spent casings recovered from Eutz’s vehicle.
Eutz’s vehicle was stopped by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department shortly after the shooting, where officers found 10mm ammunition and spent casings. A safe in the vehicle contained a 10mm Glock handgun, 23.67 grams of raw fentanyl, and 111 capsules containing fentanyl.
As a convicted felon, Eutz is barred from possessing a firearm, making his actions a serious crime. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Szczucinski leading the prosecution.
With his sentencing, Eutz will spend over 12 years behind bars for his role in the shooting and gun possession. The case serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of armed violence and the importance of public safety.
