A St. Lawrence County man has been sentenced to 95 years in federal prison for his role in the sexual exploitation of four children, including two babies, and receiving child pornography. Stacey J. LaPorte, Jr., 27, of Massena, New York, was convicted of conspiring with Mackenzie Bailey and Hillary Trimm to sexually exploit the children.
In June 2017, a jury found LaPorte guilty of conspiring to sexually exploit a child from infancy until the age of two, and producing sexually explicit images of the abuse. He was also convicted of conspiring to sexually exploit another child who had not yet turned one, a 12-year-old boy, and his 16-year-old sister. Additionally, LaPorte was convicted of receiving child pornography from another user via a computer-messaging program.
The crimes were investigated by the New York State Police, the Massena Police Department, and the Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Lisa M. Fletcher and Sahar L. Amandolare.
LaPorte will be placed on supervised release for life and will have to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison. The case is part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood initiative, which aims to prevent the sexual exploitation of children and prosecute those who commit such crimes.
‘There are few crimes as evil as the prolonged sexual abuse of infants,’ said U.S. Attorney Grant C. Jaquith. ‘LaPorte did that, produced sexually explicit images of the abuse, sexually exploited siblings, and received child pornography. His sentence to imprisonment for 95 years should ensure that no other children are victimized by this perverse predator.’
New York State Police Superintendent George P. Beach II added, ‘The State Police and our law enforcement partners have zero tolerance for those who prey on children, and this sentence reflects the severity of the crimes and our commitment to finding justice for the victims.’
LaPorte’s co-conspirators, Mackenzie Bailey and Hillary Trimm, have also been convicted and will be sentenced later this month.
