A 28-year-old man from New Jersey has been charged with conspiracy to produce child pornography in a Louisiana court. Stanley Zdon, III, was arrested in November 2013 by special agents with the United States Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

According to court documents, Zdon was responsible for receiving, distributing, and producing videos and images depicting the sexual exploitation of children via the Internet. He has been in custody since his arrest.

Conspiracy to produce child pornography carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and a maximum sentence of 30 years. If convicted, Zdon will have to register as a sex offender.

U.S. Attorney Kenneth Allen Polite, Jr. reiterated that the Superseding Bill of Information is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

The prosecution of this case is being handled by Project Safe Childhood Coordinator and Fraud Section Chief, Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian M. Klebba.
