ELIZABETHTOWN, KY – A brazen counterfeit credit card operation, stretching from Georgia to Kentucky, has landed four men in federal custody. Nkoski Kofibabafemi Kmt, Ahkim Volcy (both of Henry County, Georgia), Taray Riley, of Hardin County, and Javier Burbon, of Chicago, were arraigned before Magistrate Judge Dave Whalin this week, charged with a sophisticated scheme to manufacture and use fraudulent credit cards.
The trouble began January 28th when the Elizabethtown Police Department received complaints about suspicious activity at the Kroger Fuel Pumps on Towne Drive. Witnesses reported two vehicles – one with Georgia plates, the other from Indiana – occupied by individuals attempting to use multiple credit cards paired with a rotating cast of state IDs. It wasn’t a one-off. Just three days later, on January 31st, the same vehicles and suspects reappeared at the same Kroger, this time attempting to load up on gift cards using the same suspect credit cards.

Police didn’t have to look far for the source. On February 1st, officers with the Radcliff Police Department tracked the vehicles to a residence off Shelton Road in Radcliff. A subsequent search warrant revealed a full-blown counterfeit credit card manufacturing setup. Authorities seized multiple credit cards, blank card stock, a card reader/scanner, a laptop, and a card embosser – everything needed to churn out fake plastic.
The indictment accuses Kmt, Volcy, Riley, and Burbon of possessing and utilizing more than 15 counterfeit credit cards. The charges stem from activity between January 28, 2017, and February 1, 2017, specifically within Hardin County. The Secret Service, leading the investigation with assistance from local law enforcement, meticulously documented the scheme and built the case for federal prosecution.
If convicted at trial, each defendant faces a stiff penalty. Using and possessing more than 15 counterfeit credit cards carries a potential sentence of up to 10 years *per charge*. Possession of the equipment used to manufacture those cards could add another fifteen years to their sentence. Assistant United States Attorney H. Joseph Pinto III is handling the prosecution, promising a full accounting of the fraud.
This bust is another example of the Secret Service’s relentless pursuit of financial crimes that threaten the integrity of the nation’s financial system. While the investigation originated in Kentucky, the scope of the operation suggests a wider network may be involved. Grimy Times will continue to follow this case as it unfolds and will report any further developments.
