Teacher Sentenced for Child Porn Possession

DAYTON – William Foreman, a 71-year-old former teacher from Kettering, Ohio, has been sentenced to 60 months in prison for possessing child pornography.

Foreman, who was certified to teach handicapped children in grades K-12 and all students in grades K-8, was arrested after an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) uncovered emails showing his interest in young children and access to them through his business.

According to court documents, Foreman’s username was associated with several websites containing stories of child erotica, including more than 70 stories authored by Foreman and posted as early as 1998.

During a search of Foreman’s home, investigators discovered multiple pornographic pictures and videos of young girls, approximately seven to 11 years old, on his computer and memory cards.

Benjamin C. Glassman, Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio, stated, ‘Possession of child pornography is a real crime that harms real children.’ Marlon V. Miller, Special Agent in Charge of HSI, added, ‘Cases like these only heighten our resolve to seek out predators, especially those in positions of trust, to ensure they are held accountable.’

Foreman pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography on November 30, 2015, and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Thomas M. Rose.

Acting U.S. Attorney Glassman commended the cooperative investigation by HSI and Assistant United States Attorney Sheila G. Lafferty, who represented the United States in this case.
