A Hardin County, Tennessee sex offender, James Daniel McGee, 36, has been sentenced to 35 years in federal prison for using the internet to lure a 15-year-old girl into sexual acts.
The abuse began in July 2024, after McGee was removed from the Tennessee sex offender registry. He continued to exploit the minor, even after being removed from the registry in September 2024.
McGee met the girl on Facebook and began sending her explicit messages, asking her to send him nude photos and videos. He told her he’d get her into trouble if she didn’t comply.
McGee traveled from Tennessee to Missouri multiple times to engage in sexual acts with the minor. He was finally caught when the Savannah Police Department found the girl at his home in November 2024.
McGee had previously been convicted of soliciting a minor and exploiting a minor by electronic means in Hardin County in 2013.
