Bangor Man Sentenced to 10 Years on Drug Trafficking and Gun Charges

Bangor, Maine – In a shocking turn of events, Terrance Douglas, a 35-year-old resident of Bennettsville, South Carolina and Bangor, Maine, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his involvement in a massive drug trafficking operation. The sentencing took place on April 3, 2015, in U.S. District Court before Judge John A. Woodcock, Jr.

Douglas, who had a previous felony conviction for distributing crack cocaine, was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute cocaine, cocaine base (also known as crack cocaine), and heroin; possession with intent to distribute cocaine, crack cocaine, and heroin; and being a felon in possession of a firearm. The charges stemmed from an investigation conducted by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, the Bangor Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.

According to court records, Douglas was responsible for importing drugs from out of state and then preparing, packaging, and distributing them in the Bangor area. The investigation revealed that Douglas was involved in this illicit activity from April to October 2014.

Douglas’s arrest also revealed that he was in possession of a loaded Smith & Wesson .44 magnum pistol at the time of his apprehension. This addition to the charges further demonstrated the severity of Douglas’s crimes.
