Painkiller Ring Busted: Tevina Harris Faces Probation and Home Confinement
PITTSBURGH, PA – A 23-year-old woman has been sentenced to 42 months of probation and 10 months of home confinement for her role in a painkiller distribution scheme in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
According to court documents, Tevina Harris participated in a network of drug dealers who obtained opiate painkillers and sold them to users in the area. Harris took orders for the pills and arranged for their delivery. She was originally charged by the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.
While on bond for that charge, Harris continued to participate in the conspiracy, prosecutors alleged.
Assistant United States Attorney Brendan T. Conway prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.
US Attorney Scott W. Brady commended the Federal Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force investigation led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, and the Allegheny County Police Department for their work in bringing Harris to justice.
Harris’s sentence was imposed by United States District Judge Mark R. Hornak.
